The TIFR Graduate School Physics entrance examination is one of India's toughest entry tests for fundamental research in physics. Conducted by the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, the TIFR GS Physics exam is the gateway to TIFR Mumbai, the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA Pune), the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS Bengaluru), and the TIFR Centre for Interdisciplinary Sciences (TCIS Hyderabad).
Aspirants apply through the joint TIFR GS application, which also routes to the JEST exam pool used by several other institutes. The Physics paper has historically had two parts — a common section for Integrated PhD and PhD applicants, and a part targeted specifically at PhD-level depth. The questions on this site cover every variation across TIFR Physics 2013–2026.
